    I love Endora

Dodo slept over last night! We watched three movies in one evening, ate sooo much food, and played lots and lots of OMGPOP. I got reeeally addicted to that site in the past few days, and now she is too! She went home earlier and we’re actually online playing again right now; I’m typing this in between games.

In other news, the lag on that site is pretty bad. :(

    First day at the internship

I started at Missionwell today, hours from 9 to 5… gonna be working there every weekday until August 18th, for a round twelve weeks. I learned so much in just a few hours, not only of technical information, but also of strategic planning and the considerations behind marketing and business development. My head is pounding right now, probably from a combination of cramming information, staying indoors for so long (I’m glad I at least walked around outside for lunch), and lack of sleep (got up at 7:15 today—earliest since finals)… as weird as this sounds, though, the headache is actually really satisfying. I’m learning so much and am excited for the next few months, which feels great cuz it’s been a while since I’ve felt enthusiastic about anything. It fills a void, and I’m sure it’s going to keep me from becoming a dull shell of a person over the summer.

I’m still a little nervous about my assignments—what if I don’t know enough, am too immature to do a good job, etc.—but I feel much more confident now than I did last night. I’m just going to do my best here, and I know I’ll see results.

As for my sleeping habits, I’m planning to revert back to high school mode during the week, going to bed before midnight and getting up bright and early. I wouldn’t have thought it possible before, but I’m so worn out right now that an early bedtime is imperative.

Overall, it’s been a good day. Gonna walk Mikah now, run a few errands, watch a little TV, get ahead on some MW research, and hopefully pass out by 11:30 tonight. Blocking Facebook and Tumblr for twelve hours now; good night…

Just cast an American Idol vote for the first time.

I thought that, since it’s Simon Cowell’s last season on the show and all, I’d watch more than just the auditions. :) Amazing singers, wow… I’m sorry I never watched to the end before.

All Time Low - Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don’t)

Now that I’ve calculated my total GPA for the past two semesters, this song basically epitomizes my relationship with the Haas application come November. </3

But seriously, I do like this song.

    I LOVE Katy Pedelty

What would I do without her. She keeps me in shape (more or less), takes me to church (which is funny in itself, because I’m Christian and she’s agnostic), and helps me learn to cook, on top of being a super fun person to hang with and sooo many other things that make her an awesome friend.

We went running after church today, which made me realize how little exercise I’ve actually been getting recently. Sure, Foothill was a pain in the butt when it came to reaching places in Berkeley, but it only made me good at walking/climbing hills. Running was a different matter entirely, and the 2.25 miles we ran/walked today (alternating laps around our old high school track) was one of my more pathetic experiences of the past year—excluding academics, of course.

Afterwards, I cooked (yes, I COOKED) a simple lunch for us, which comprised of bread fried with eggs, and then with cheese. Okay, so Katy *did* give me some advice for that, but I’m still really proud of myself. And I would happily live off of bread, cheese, eggs, yogurt and fruit for a while, so there—I’m self-sustaining. (Still getting around to vegetables.)

So overall, it was a good day and I’m rather pleased with myself for getting off my butt and doing some cardio today, as well as gaining some confidence in front of the stove. And again, I’m SO glad to have Katy here—I’m gonna be sad when she leaves for Pennsylvania, then Berkeley, on Friday.

I LOVE Evelyn Warner, Katy Pedelty and Leah Snyder

Spent time with my three favorite people from high school today (/yesterday, since it’s past midnight)… it felt incredible being all together again. Katy, Leah and I go to Berkeley together, but it’s different there. We all have separate lives and different groups of friends, and we rarely make time to hang out. But back in LC, nothing has changed. It’s still the four of us as close as ever, although I hardly kept in contact with Evelyn over the past nine months while she was at Columbia (<- another failure of mine to make time for someone I really care about).

I’m so happy I can come home to friends that I can be myself around—I love my life at Berkeley, but there’s often a kind of disconnect between what my autopilot-self does and how I really feel. As much as I miss Cal, there’s a liberating aspect to being back home that I’m learning to appreciate even as I complain about wanting to be back in school.

Katy is leaving for summer school at Berkeley soon, and Evelyn is going to Australia for a month in June. Of course, I’m left behind (keeping it real in LC), and I’m going to miss them so much—though Leah will still be here too. Love these girls!

So I can keep track of all the people I love, obviously.
